LA CROSSE (WKBT) — A La Crosse nonprofit is getting a new method to help relieve the boy or girl-care disaster by prepping large schoolers for the workforce.
The purpose of the Parenting Place’s new system, referred to as Kid Care Explorers, is to develop large schoolers’ desire in functioning in early little one care.
Fostering enthusiasm is crucial, education coordinator Sara Horstman mentioned.
“Child care is necessary everywhere you go, in every single spot,” Horstman said. “So this is a single of the methods that we are going to try to construct the workforce for childcare. To convey new people today into the globe and start out making that enthusiasm.”
Commencing this summer, the Parenting Place will teach La Crosse high schoolers to enter the workforce. Formal dates are not established yet.
Each session will be a few hours lengthy, and will address a assortment of youngster-care topics.
The 1st course will be capped at 25 college students.
